Well, Druid is now less intensive to prepare, like any other spellcaster.Īnd some great game magic, never seen before!!!Ĭritically Awesome Essentials is an extension that will change the way you game. Have you ever wanted to play a druid shapeshifter on Fantasy Grounds, but the prep-work was too much? Wish you could have all the versatility but didn't want to spend hours memorizing information? The first one, presented here with the extension, concerns wild shape functionality for Druids in the 5th edition D&D ruleset. DM's and player's lives just got a WHOLE LOT easier. Many are already available or in development! As Critically Awesome Essentials continues to add features for the 5E D&D ruleset for Fantasy Grounds, several modules will be released with different content. Now includes "effects list" to use polymorph etc. This works for the 5th Edition D&D ruleset.
WOW! This now adds the ability to change tokens of players and NPCs on the fly, set custom “shapes”, and also resolves the ever pesky token stack issues. Now includes CUSTOM tokens, CUSTOM monster shapes, and functionality for one-click polymorph, shape change, and disguise.
There should now be a total of 4 extension files.
Seriously.how hard is it to add the ability to use a form-fillable PDF to Foundry? As I said, it doesn't have to have "automation".just let me import my own PDF Character Sheet so I, and my Players can reference it and manually change what we need as play progresses.Critically Awesome Essentials is an extension framework used for the 5th Edition D&D ruleset in the Fantasy Grounds VTT. Just a PDF/Image that a Player can click on "Number of Torches: 4" and manually change the 4 to a 3. So, IMNSHO, Foundry *MUST* figure out a way to allow the average person (re: someone who knows little to no programming) to import an image or PDF of a character sheet, 'insert' a "field" and use that "field" to hold a number or text or image that can be changed during game play (doesn't have to be 'connected' to anything). I'm playing a "Tabletop RPG on a computer".I don't want to play a "Computer RPG on a Tabletop", if you get my meaning. No, I don't have all the "automation", but that's not very important to me.
Astral VTT and Tabletop Simulator allow me to do this very easily. But if I'm going to have to create my own character sheets for it, then I'm going to use a VTT that lets me do that as easily as possible. But I want to run a game of Powers & Perils. Fantasy Grounds is *EASILY* 'better' at running a 5e D&D game for pretty much anyone.įoundry has a lot of things going for it! I really like Foundry's *potential* to run a game. If I'm going to play Pathfinder, D&D 5e, or Call of Cthulhu. Can you please help out with foolproof instructions?įoundry is "Why use Foundry then?" stage with me.
I just don't understand any of the existing articles about how to create/insert the file/sheet into my game. Tldr: I'd love to use Foundry for our Symbaroum campaign, so I need basic custom sheets for it - no automation needed. I just love the implementation of other features (maps, audio/ambient, handouts) in Foundry and I hope you can help me to stay and get it going. We play at a table IRL normally, so we are used to calculate (etc) on our own (for now :D). Probably automated skill-checks would be cool, but nothing fancy needed. I know the rules and it would be enough to just have a basic sheet for characters/npc/monsters & items, where everything can be added manually. We don't even need (a lot of) automation. let's say beginner-friendly in terms of customization, but I wanted to give it a try at least, so I came here to ask for your help. I thought about using FG for a while and probably come back when Foundry gets a bit more. I'm just not able to use it for my upcoming Symbaroum campaign without some custom sheets. I just learned about it a few days ago and I almost instantely became a patron after playing around with the demo for an hour. That said, I absolutely fell in love with Foundry.
So I guess it's done with mods (?), but unforunately that's not a less confusing topic for me. I'm probably able to edit an existing sheet to my needs - or better said: rip apart an existing sheet so I don't have to start from scratch -, but I just don't get how to insert it into my game (obviously I can't just overwrite the file). Guide to reporting Foundry problems so it's easier to help youįirst of all, I know there are a few links around about this topic, but for me (personally) as a beginner they're just not in depth enough.
